Buddy’s Contest: WEEK 1

Well, between the extended work hours, the crappy weather, and getting sick midweek, neither myself nor the kids racked up very many miles.  So, those are my excuses… what are yours?

From Sunday thru Saturday (yesterday) I only managed to put in 4.25 miles, Rudy did 1.87 miles, and Buddy and Precious did 1.25 miles each.

The good news is my calves seem to be getting a great workout with my daily uphill “death march” to work.  As you can see in the photo, My scary “just big” calves are now turning into scary big defined calves.  Ok, I suppose most women are a little freaked about big bulging muscles, but then again, most women don’t play ice hockey either!

THE CONTEST
Ya gotta be in it to win it.  So here’s what you have to do… just comment on this post about how many minutes or miles you walked (biked, ellipticalled, ran, etc.) this past week.  If you walk with Fluffy (or whatever your dog’s name is), include their mileage.  Buddy would like some encouragement too!

  1. Well, my walking partners are my children, the human kind most days.
    I walked approximately 5.5 miles over the last week.
    It is easier for me to keep track when I walk on the high school track across the road, but that could become an issue with school and the sports starting up. I do prefer to walk at night though.
    I need to get a new pedometer as my old one broke down.

    Keep walking and you know just by walking my husband lost 150lbs in one year and definitely defined his waistline and leg muscles.

  2. My group walked on Monday and Wednesday evenings and logged 3 on Mon, and 3.5 on Wed.
    Put me down for 6.5

    I think we can do more! ;)

    well, for last week i manage to run and walk in my treadmill for 30mins each day for six days. i always left one day for a rest. and 30 mins = 1.2m. so that’s 7.2. not bad, huh ? for a lupus patient who have weak legs.

  4. I got in approximately 5 miles last weekend while in New York City, but only managed 1.2 this week as I attempted to recover from the hours of driving and lack of sleep during the trip to NYC.
